Configure Individual Form Fields
Applicable Product:
- Talent Management: Performance
Applicable Release:
- V21
Summary:
This article will help Configure Individual Form Fields in any given Performance Plan.
Detailed Information:
Performance administrators can configure the fields within each section of a performance plan form by changing the field labels, field-level help text, and field dimensions. Some fields offer other options, such as whether the field's audit history is accessible on the form or an option to display multi-rater evaluation results. Unless a field is automatically calculated by the system, you can also specify its editability, that is, whether the field is editable, required, or viewable only.
Form fields can be configured on the performance plan configuration page or in the Form Repository.
-
To access the plan configuration page, go to Primary Navigation Menu > Talent Management Administration > Performance Administration > Performance Management > Performance Management Plans. Click the Edit icon for the plan you want to configure, and then click the form you want to configure in the left tab list.
-
To access the Form Repository page, go to Primary Navigation Menu > Talent Management Administration > Performance Administration > Performance Management > Form Repository. Click the Edit icon of the form you want to configure and click the Configure Form tab.
To configure individual form fields
-
On the form configuration page, click the Configure Field (lightning bolt) icon for the field you want to modify.
-
To remove the field from the form, select Remove Field.
-
If the field is in a shared section, you have the option to select how your changes should be applied: to the current form only, to all forms in the plan that uses the section (if the section is shared across forms in the plan), or to all forms and plans that use the section (if the section is shared across multiple forms and plans). After selecting an option, click Save.
-
To edit the field, select Edit Field Properties. The Edit Field Properties dialog box appears.
-
If the Editability field appears at the top of the dialog box, specify whether the field can, or must, be edited by selecting Read/Write, Required, or Read Only from the drop-down menu. In certain situations, the editability setting you select might be overridden by form permissions that are set when the associated workflow process is configured.
-
Edit the Field Label.
-
Enter or edit help text in the Field Level Help Text field.
-
If form field width and height configuration is enabled for the plan, you can optionally specify the field dimensions by entering the number of pixels you want in the Width and Height fields. Form field width and height configuration can be enabled on the plan's Basics configuration page.
-
If a form field allows the audit history to be displayed, the Show Audit History field appears. Select the check box to display an icon on the form next to the field that allows end-users to view a list of changes to the field.
-
In a performance management plan that includes a multi-rater evaluation, rating and comment fields on evaluation forms include an option to display multi-rater feedback on the evaluation forms. Select the Show Multi-Rater Feedback check box to display an icon next to the field that allows quick access to aggregated anonymous multi-rater ratings and comments.
-
If the field is a user-defined select list field, enter the data in [key, value] form enclosed in square brackets and separated by commas. Separate each pair using a semicolon. For example: [1,High];[2, Medium];[3, Low].
-
Click Save.
-
If the field is in a shared section, you have the option to select how your changes should be applied: to the current form only, to all forms in the plan that uses the section (if the section is shared across forms in the plan), or to all forms and plans that use the section (if the section is shared across multiple forms and plans). After selecting an option, click Save.
Note: You can add/remove fields at any point in time during the Performance Evaluation. Be mindful of the Employees and where they are at in the Evaluation. We wouldn't want to remove fields that they have already entered data into.
