Update User Translations

Summary:
Will guide Admins on how to change Labels in the Application via 62-AuthoriaTranslations

 

Detailed Information:

There are many labels in the application that are not editable, even with Design mode. When we encounter labels like this and want to change, we can do this by using the 62-AuthoriaTranslations data feed. We first need to locate the I18N Key as this is the main key usedin  the file 62.

In my example, we will be changing the following fields:

 

1. First we need to enable translation keys. Go to Admin-->Show Translation Keys and from there navigate to the field and copy the name in the {  }. Save this ID for later.

 

-Employee = {Employee}

-Plan = {delegation_plan}

-Review Period = {reviewPeriod}

 

2. Next, navigate to Site Administration-->Data Setup-->User Translation and then filter by the I18N KEY you are seeking to update. Double-check the Locale used and make sure you have the correct key you intend to update.

3. Create a .csv or .txt with rows for the records needing to be updated and upload manually to SFTP.

Once the load has been processed(Timing for completion is around 15-25 minutes depending on the time of day) You will now see the translations have changed.
