How To Regenerate/Delete Performance Workflow Tasks
Applicable Products
Talent Management - Performance
Applicable Releases
21.11 and later
Summary
This feature enhancement allows administrators to delete and regenerate tasks from participants when managing Performance workflow processes.
Detailed Information:
Regenerate Workflow Tasks
In previous updates of PeopleFluent Talent Management, if a Performance workflow
process had been started and a problem was found in one or more workflow tasks (for
example, a typographical error in the task text was found after the process had been
started), an administrator would have to move participants to a previous workflow state
and then back again to give participants the corrected task. This generated extra email
notifications and added unneeded data to the activity log.
In the 21.11 update, administrators can correct the task in the Performance plan and then
regenerate tasks so participants get the updated tasks without being moved back and
forth.
Delete Workflow Tasks
Occasionally, when a workflow process is ready to be completed, some participants
remain in workflow states other than Completed, and the administrator does not want to
move them to Completed. Any tasks would remain on those participants’ task lists even if
the process was marked as complete.
In the 21.11 update, administrators can remove any remaining tasks on all participant’s
task lists (no matter where they are in the workflow process) in order to cleanly close out
a workflow process.
Both regenerating and deleting tasks are done in the Workflow Process Management
page and can be done in two ways: for all participants in a workflow state, or only for
selected participants in a workflow state.
Administrators can regenerate or delete tasks for all participants (in their area of
responsibility) in a workflow state at once by clicking the More Actions menu below a
state and selecting Delete Tasks or Regenerate Tasks
This More Actions menu is a change in this update; previously a Send Reminders link appeared if reminders were enabled. Now the Send Reminders option can be found in the More Actions menu.

workflow state on the Workflow Process Management page to open the Participants in
State dialog box. Here they select participants and then click Delete Tasks or Regenerate

well. However, deleting or regenerating tasks in a multi-rater workflow will not regenerate or delete additional feedback tasks.
Also, keep the following points in mind:
-
Tasks will be automatically deleted or regenerated even if they have been delegated
to other employees.
-
The workflow process log will show details about deleted and regenerated tasks.
-
If a distributed administrator regenerates or deletes tasks, that will work only on
participants in their area of responsibility.
