User License Definition

The license count will use the higher number of these counts:

  1. The total number of employees within the Customer organizations that are permitted to access and use TM/the system (Users/Lives)
  2. for which TM is utilized (Participants) - see details below

Compensation

A license is any unique Employee ID (EEID) that has been initiated into a Compensation plan as a Plan Participant (salary, off-cycle, bonus, stock, or total compensation) during the calendar year.

  • If an employee is initiated into two or more processes in the year they will only count once.
  • Inactive employees are included in this count if they are added to a plan as a plan participant for compensation planning.

Performance

A license is any unique EEID that has been initiated into a Performance plan (goals and/or evaluation workflows) during the license year.

  • If an employee leaves the organization (inactive) and a record is maintained (they have been previously initiated into a workflow within the current licensing year) then that still counts as a unique ID.
  • If an employee is initiated into two or more processes in the year they will only count once.

Succession

A license is any unique EEID that has been added to a Succession slate or pool for a job, position or strategic list during the license year.

  • If an employee leaves the organization and a record is maintained then that still counts as a unique ID.
  • If an employee is initiated into two or more processes in the year they will only count once.

Calibration (part of BOTH Performance and Succession)

A license is any unique EEID that has been included in a calibration session during the licensing year.

  • Calibration is included in Succession licensing (Performance if not licensed with Succession) - the unique EEIDs are added to whichever license count is higher

  • If an employee is initiated into two or more processes in the year they will only count once.

  • If an employee leaves the organization (inactive) and a record is maintained (they have been previously initiated into a workflow within the current licensing year) then that still counts as a unique ID.

** It is recommended to get enough licenses to cover all employees that go into any plan in the year and allow for the turnover employee's data to be maintained in the system.
