About the Awarded Certificates CSV Loader
Applicable Product:
PeopleFluent Learning
Applicable Release:
All Versions
Summary:
You can award certifications to one or more learners at once, or delete certifications from learners' transcripts, via the Awarded Certificates CSV Loader. For each certification award, you can specify the URL of a PDF certificate.
To get started, you can download a CSV file template and populate the required fields offline in a spreadsheet application or text editor. The LMS provides information to help you fill in the CSV template, such as the expected values for each field. For more information, see Awarded Certificates CSV Loader Field Reference.
When awarding a certification, the mandatory fields are:
- Action
- UserID
- Certification_title or certification_code
- Date_achieved
- Is_self_awarded
When deleting a certification, you must also specify the award_id.
Administrators with unrestricted access to the Awarded Certificates CSV Loader feature in System Roles (Manage Features > Certification Manager) can import awarded certificates CSV files.
To import awarded certificates data and review previous imports, go to Manage Center > Learning > Awarded Certificates CSV Loader.
Preparing CSV Files for Import
To prepare a user CSV file for import, you can download a template CSV file from the Awarded Certificates CSV Loader page and populate the fields as required. The CSV file template includes any certificate award attributes (prefixed with CT-).
Note that CSV files are likely to be opened by Microsoft Excel if it is installed on your system. If you encounter any problems with importing a CSV file into the LMS, it could be caused by Microsoft Excel applying extra formatting to the file. Alternatively, you can edit CSV files in a text editor instead of Microsoft Excel. The data should conform to the formatting required by the template as specified in the corresponding CSV Formatting Help.
If the values for text area fields include punctuation, these fields must be enclosed in double quotation marks (" "). Do not include commas or semicolons in other fields as they could be interpreted as a field delimiter (depending on your choice of delimiter at import).
