Summary:
DFIN iPaaS error description and possible resolution
Detailed Summary:
Below is a sample of a DFIN error the user receives upon logging in to the application
The DFIN error translates to "Federated ID not found". This can be caused by any of the following:
Problem | Resolution |
User has not been added to the system yet | Add user to the application via file upload |
The user exists, but is not marked "Active" in iPaaS. | iPaas Admin should confirm that the "Active" flag is checked for the user in the iPaas console |
User External ID does not match | Ensure that the External ID matches with the NameID attribute passed in the SAML assertion. Contact your IT SSO team to check NameID attribute value |
The SAML assertion attributes include the NameID. This represents the "External ID" of the user. We look up the federated ID of the user based on the "External ID". iPaaS stores an array of external IDs for each user so that a user's federated ID can be found even if products report different external IDs for the same user.
If any of the above does not solve the issue, kindly open a Support case and include the screenshot of the error, similar to the one above. The "Request Id" is the key information we need to troubleshoot further.
