How to hide an org unit

Applicable Product:

  • OrgPublisher

Applicable Release:

  • V21.x and later


Summary:

*Before you start, make sure you export your chart to preserve its current state in case you need to roll back.  Here's how:

  1. Click on the "Web Apps" tab
  2. Click on the appropriate web app
  3. In the far right column, click on the "Actions" icon and select "Export"
  4. You'll find a file with the .opchart extension in your Downloads folder

Here's how you can hide an org unit:

  1. In OrgPublisherAdministration, get to the chart in question
  2. Click on the "Groups" tab and then click the "Add Group" button
  3. Give it a name such as "HiddenOrg" and use a few criteria to single that box out such as:

     
  4. Then click on the "Search" button to verify that you only see 1 result
  5. Click "Save"
  6. Then click on the "Position Types" tab
  7. Click the "Add" button
  8. Give it a name such as "HiddenOrgType" and select one of the available Record Type letters from the drop list
  9. Next, click on the "Conditional Position Type" option and click the drop list for "Conditional Type Group" and select the "HiddenOrg" group
  10. You can leave the box type as "Normal"
  11. Click "Save"
  12. Then click on the "Views" tab
    *You will have to do this for every view you have
  13. Click on a view and then click on the "Format and Visibility" tab
  14. Then click the "Visibility" tab and uncheck "HiddenOrgType":

     
  15. Then click "Save"
  16. Re-publish your chart
