Summary:
You can create an event for a class resource, facility or yourself as an instructor, to make a booking for a specific date, or to create a new training session and schedule the resource, facility and instructor required for it. You can create and view events in the Schedule tab for the resource, facility or instructor, or in the Resource Planner. Scheduled events are displayed as blocks in a calendar, with hatched blocks representing processing time for class resources, if configured.

To create an event, your user role must have unrestricted access to the Class Resource Manager feature (Manage Features > Catalog Manager Features). 

After creating a new learning module session event, you can open the session in the Catalog Editor for further editing from the Create Event dialog.

To create an event for a class resource, facility or instructor:

1. Go to one of the following pages:
   • Manage Center > Learning > Class Resources
   • Manage Center > Learning > Facilities
   • Manage Center > Learning > Instructors
     
     
2. Click the name of the resource, facility or instructor you want to create an event for and then click Schedule. Alternatively, select View Schedule from its action menu. The Schedule tab opens.
   
   
3. Click + Create Event, or click on a white space on the calendar. The Create Event dialog opens.
   
   
4. Select the type of event to create: a module classroom session or a class resource, facility or instructor booking.
   
   
5. Click Continue.
   
   
6. Enter the event details.
   
   
7. Click Continue.
   
   
8. If the facility, instructors and resources required for your event are available, click Continue. Otherwise, click Back to select alternative resources or dates.
   
   
9. For module session events select any save options as appropriate. For example, if the event is a module session, has a future start date and learners showing interest in the course, you can choose whether to send New Sessions Available Notifications.
   
   
10. Click Book. The dialog shows a summary of the event booking.
    
    
11. Click Close. The new event is added to the schedule for the resource.

To create an event from the Resource Planner:

1. Go to Manage Center > Learning > Resource Planner. The Resource Planner opens.
   
   
2. If there is no default resource preset and the Resources dialog opens, select the resources to display in the planner, or click Cancel to not show any bookings in the calendar.
