Summary:
When launching modules with the Launch Interface set to the default value 'Resource' the content will send a commit statement to the database every few seconds (the commit interval is configurable within ekp.properties) to update the system of the users progress.
This can cause a bottleneck as multiple users accessing the same module will use up more database connections.
To help free up connections for the system, the Launch Interface can be changed to use the Rustici Engine. The benefit of this being that the course player does not use the PF Learning database connections, in turn having more connections free for system usage.
To change the Launch interface, you can navigate to Catalogue Editor > Module Properties > Define Launch Properties.
On the Launch interface dropdown box, select Rustici Engine and save the changes.
Once this is done, the Launch Properties window will change to reflect the Rustici settings.
Alternatively, content can be imported to use Rustici Engine by ticking the Use Rustici Engine check box when initially importing a content package, or when importing a revision.
