How to Limit Access to Specific Data Sources
Applicable Product:
- OrgPublisher
Applicable Release:
- V21 and later
Summary:
This article demonstrates how to limit users' access to specific data sources. Users assigned a role with the Manage users and roles permission can use the following permissions to limit OrgPublisher Administration web app users' ability to create, edit, and delete data sources.
Table: Data Source Permissions
Name | Description |
Manage all data sources | Users assigned a role with this permission can create and edit or delete any data source created by any user. |
Manage authored data sources | Users assigned a role with this permission can create a new data source, and edit or delete any data source they created. |
Edit specific data sources | Users assigned a role with this permission can edit, but not delete, the selected data sources. This permission is useful for allowing users to edit data sources created by other users. Users not assigned a role with this permission can only edit data sources they created. |
Detailed Information:
Caution: Enabling the Edit specific data sources permission but failing to select at least one data source will prevent the users assigned the role with this configuration from being able to edit any existing data sources, including those the users created.
To limit access to specific data sources:
- Go to Home > Settings > Roles. The Roles page appears.
Click the name of the role. The Role page appears.
3. In the Data Sources section, if not enabled, select Edit specific data sources. The list of data sources appears.
4. Select the data sources you want to grant users with this role permission to edit.
5. Clear selections for the data sources from which you want to remove the permission to edit.
6. Click Save to save and close, or click Apply to save your changes and continue editing role options.
