Managing Organization Stakeholders

Applicable Product:

  • Talent Management: Performance

Applicable Release:

Summary:

The Stakeholders page allows administrators to manage stakeholder assignments for an organization and all subordinate organizations in the hierarchy. Stakeholders are assigned specific areas of responsibility that define their access to employee populations within their HR domain.

Stakeholder assignments are used to:

  • Control access to employee data based on organizational structure.
  • Define HR responsibilities such as performance management, recruiting, succession planning, and compensation.
  • Ensure continuity of access by linking stakeholder roles to positions rather than individuals.

Example Use Case

If an HR employee, such as Connie Poring, supports performance management for the Manufacturing organization, she would be assigned as a stakeholder with the HR Performance area of responsibility for that organization.

Assigning Stakeholders

To assign stakeholders:

  1. Navigate to the Stakeholders page for the desired organization.
  2. Click Add to open the Select Stakeholder page.
  3. Choose a person from the list. Note: The system links the stakeholder role to the position the person occupies.
  4. Select the appropriate Area of Responsibility (dynamic role).

Important Notes

  • Stakeholder roles are tied to positions, not individuals. This ensures the role persists even if the person in the position changes.
  • If assigning stakeholders to the following areas:

    • HR Recruiting
    • HR Performance
    • HR Succession
    • HR Compensation

You must also assign the corresponding HR Business Partner static role to the user’s record. Without this, the stakeholder will not have access to the required data.
