Summary:
Scenario: In version 11, our HTML5 charts reside in a charting instance called orgpublisher. I had migrated the charts to the new OrgPublisher to a charting web app called orgpublisherTemp.
After our validation process was done, I need to rename orgpublisherTemp to orgpublisher. I tried renaming it through IIS but it did not work.
Explanation: Currently, the OrgPublisher configuration tool cannot rename existing web apps - you will have to delete the v11 instance and then re-create the charting web app in the new OrgPublisher's configuration tool. I recommend doing the following during down time/after hours to lessen the impact on your end users.
- Using the v11 HTML5 Configuration tool, delete the orgpublisher instance
- Using the new OrgPublisher Configuration tool, create a new charting web app called orgpublisher
- Then using the OrgPublisherAdministration web app, export your chart from the existing orgpublisherTemp web app and then import it into the newly created new orgpublisher charting web app
- Publish and view the chart and verify that it is functioning correctly
- Finally, using the new OrgPublisher Configuration tool, delete the orgpublisherTemp charting web app
