Report Date Format - 25.06+

Applicable Product:

  • PeopleFluent Learning

Applicable Release:

  • v25.06

Summary:

  • Cause

Due to changes in the Java version from 25.06 onwards, the date format in csv and xls report outputs is not being recognised as a date.

Java uses CLDR (Unicode Common Locale Data Repository) for localized date formatting (month names, week start day, etc.).
Updates over the years have changed:

  • Translations of month/day names in various languages.
  • Formatting conventions (e.g., short vs long patterns, local vs international symbols).
  • Default calendar conventions in some locales.

  • Effect

As the data is not being treated as a date, any sorting of data will not be in chronological order. It is also not possible to change the format of the cell.

  •  Workaround

To workaround the issue, in Excel, select the column with dates/times.
Do find/replace (control & H) and replace the comma with nothing.

Click 'Replace all'

Excel will then recognize the field as a date:
