This guide explains how to use an SSH key with WinSCP for SFTP access.
- Paste the key into Notepad/Notepad++ and save it as a .key file on your machine.
- Open your FTP Program (WinSCP, FileZilla, etc.) (we will use WinSCP here).

You will see this screen upon opening:
- For “Host Name”, type in “sftp-us.ltghosting.io”.
- For “Username”, type in the username provided

Click Advanced button:

Go to SSH > Authentication:

Disable the following options:
- Respond with a password to the first prompt

Attempt ‘keyboard-interactive’ authentication.

Next to Private Key File, click the 3 dots to open windows file explorer. Make sure to click on the file type drop-down, and select “All Files (*.*)” to see the key file:
- Click the key file and click Open.

On the Pop-Up Window, click OK:
- Save the .ppk file in the same location.
- You will get a pop-up window that says it was converted and saved. Click OK.
- Click OK to close the Advanced Site Settings window.
- Click Login.
