Correcting Organization Assignment at Positional Level

Summary:

This article explains how to correct an incorrect Organization assignment for an employee at the positional level without impacting other structures.

Symptoms:

  • Employee is assigned to the wrong Organization in the position hierarchy.
  • Reports and hierarchy views show incorrect organizational alignment.

Resolution Steps:

  1. Navigate to: Reporting → Grid Reporting → Organization Data → Positions → By Position Title w/ Position Holder.
  2. Search for the Employee ID that needs the update (e.g., ABC123996).
  3. Under the Primary Section in the Hierarchy tab, select the arrow drop-down.
  4. Search for and select the desired Organization.
  5. Verify that the Type and Parent values for the Organization are correct before saving changes.

Additional Notes:

  • Ensure changes are made only at the positional level to avoid unintended structural updates.
  • Double-check hierarchy alignment after the update to confirm accuracy
