Symptoms When launching a course in PeopleFluent Learning (LMS), users encounter an onscreen message stating:
"This course has been officially retired and so may no longer be launched."

However, the course status is still set to Active in the LMS backend.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting (LMS Verification)
Verify Course Status in LMS:
Go to Course/Module Manager in the LMS catalog.
Search for the impacted Module ID (e.g.,
BL00-SVL_102934).Confirm whether the module status is set to Active or Retired/Archived.
Verification: If set to Retired in the LMS, set it to Active and retest launching the course.
Check User Enrollment & Duplicate Profiles:
Search for the affected user account(s) in User Management.
Check if duplicate profiles exist for the learner (e.g., one active profile and one archived/inbound profile).
Confirm if the enrollment is associated with the correct, active user profile and check current completion status.
Verification: Launch the course while logged in as or impersonating the active user profile to replicate the exact behavior.
Confirm Third-Party (Rustici / SCORM Dispatch) Scope:
If the LMS status is confirmed Active and enrollment is verified on the correct profile, the issue is originating from the external content dispatch engine (e.g., Rustici Engine / SCORM Dispatch).
Cause
When third-party dispatch content shows as "Retired" while the LMS module is active, the link has been deactivated externally by the content provider. Common causes include:
Expired License/Subscription: The customer's active license agreement with the vendor has expired.
Deprecated Course Version: The vendor retired that specific dispatch package/Module ID and replaced it with an updated version.
Resolution Steps
Contact Content Vendor:
Reach out to the third-party vendor or provider responsible for the content.
Request renewal of the subscription/license or ask for the updated SCORM/Dispatch package.
Update Content in LMS:
Import the updated SCORM or dispatch package into the LMS under the corresponding module.
Confirm the launch link functions correctly after updating.
