Why are the Insert Menu Options and Icons grayed out and not selectable?

Problem:
When trying to build a chart I find the options under Insert are grayed out. Unable to insert boxes, Jobs, People, Hotspots, etc. Likewise the Toolbar icons are grayed out.

Solution

These options are only available when in Build Mode. If you switch from View Mode over to Build Mode you will find the options are activated.

CAUTION: If you are working with an .odb or .odbx file, moving from View Mode to Build Mode will disconnect the chart from the source file and ask you to save a ‘static’ copy of the chart. Any formatting changes or addition of boxes will not be reflected in the original .odb/.odbx file.
