Issues List

ZenDesk Ticket IDs Internal ID Issue Title Issue and Resolution Details
261187 NSD-5048 Bold or highlighted text missing from downloaded exam PDFs in certain languages Previously, when a learner downloaded an exam containing question text with HTML formatting (such as bold) in certain languages — including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian — the formatted portion of the text could be omitted from the downloaded PDF, even though it appeared correctly when printed. This has been resolved, and downloaded exam PDFs now render formatted text consistently with the printed version.
307013 NSD-7616 Session transfer emails for virtual classrooms now correctly show the previous session's date and time When a learner was transferred between sessions of a virtual classroom, the {old_session} parameter in Session Transfer Notification emails incorrectly displayed the new session's start and end date/time instead of the original session's details. This has been fixed — the email now correctly shows the previous session's date and time, adjusted to the recipient's time zone.
304605 NSD-7657 Course Launch Fails from Current Learning Modules Widget When a course was listed in the Current Learning Modules widget on the Home Page, clicking to launch it could fail silently or produce a JavaScript error instead of opening the course. This occurred because a required script was not being loaded for the widget. The widget has been updated to load the necessary script, so courses listed in this widget now launch correctly from the Widget Page.
310433 NSD-7758 Background Task Console now shows the correct last start time for scheduled imports On the Background Task Console, the "Last Start Time" column was incorrectly displaying the task's finish time instead of its start time, causing the displayed time to not match the label or the task's history details. This has been corrected so the column now accurately reflects when the task last started.
309196 NSD-7861 Session Completion Notification emails sometimes missing the end date In some cases, the Session Completion Notification email sent when a learner finishes a program did not always include the program's end date in the email body. A safeguard fix has been applied to ensure the end date is reliably populated in these notifications.
287705 NSD-7964 Duplicate records and missing attachment reference for uploaded Previously Awarded Certificates in R603 and R604 reports Previously, when a Previously Awarded Certificate was uploaded via the Awarded Certificates CSV Loader with self-award approval, the certificate appeared twice in the R603 and R604 reports — once with an incorrect "Self Awarded" value and a missing attachment reference, and once with the correct values. This has been fixed so each awarded certificate now appears only once in these reports, with the correct Self Awarded status and attachment filename displayed.
324563 NSD-8313 Certifications Now Require an Organization When Auto-Enrollment Criteria Filtering Is Enabled When "Require Org in Auto Enroll Targets" was enabled in System Configuration, certifications using criteria-based auto-enrollment (Users/Organization/Role) could still be saved without an Organization selected. This meant the missing-organization error only surfaced later and silently, when the re-enrollment process ran — so learners were not re-enrolled upon certificate expiration, with no visible error to administrators. This issue is now resolved: if Organization is required but not selected, saving the certification displays the error "Organization is required for automatic enrollment criteria. Certification has not been saved," and the certification is not saved until an Organization is provided.
334048 NSD-8436 Failed Report Wizard Reports No Longer Leave Database Connections and Temporary Files Open Previously, if a Report Wizard batch report encountered a database error while finishing (for example, when the database connection was lost or unavailable), the system could fail to close the report's output file and release its database connection. Over time, these unreleased connections and open files could consume available database connections and temporary storage, in some cases requiring a system restart to recover. This has been fixed so that report processing now reliably closes the output file and releases its database connection even when an error occurs while finalizing the report.
331210 NSD-8597 Course title and description on the Smartphone UI now display in the learner's selected language Previously, when viewing course details on the Smartphone UI, the course title and description always displayed in the course's primary language, even if a language bundle existed for the learner's selected display language and that language was shown correctly elsewhere (such as in the Catalog Browser list view). A language selector has been added to the Smartphone UI course details screen, allowing the title, description, and other applicable fields to display using the selected language bundle, consistent with the desktop course details experience.
342254,381955,382330 NSD-8757 Competency reminder emails sent more than once Previously, when a learner's competency was approaching expiration, the system could send the same "Competency Learning Module Expiration Reminder" email more than once for the same reminder period. This occurred because the daily background process that checks for pending reminders did not correctly recognize that a reminder had already been sent earlier that same day, causing it to resend the notification on a subsequent run. This issue has been resolved — each reminder is now sent only once per reminder period.
350516 NSD-9103 Post Session Reminder Email Not Received by External Email Addresses Previously, when an External Email address was added to the To or CC fields of a Post Session Reminder email template, that address did not receive the email, even though other recipients (such as the assigned instructor) received it successfully. This issue has been resolved. External Email addresses configured on the Post Session Reminder email template are now delivered correctly.
364201 NSD-9654 Course Title Now Displays in the User's Selected Language on the Indicate Interest Screen When a user viewed course details and selected "Indicate Interest" for a course that had a translated title and description (via a language bundle), the course title and description were always shown in the course's primary language instead of the language bundle matching the user's profile language — even though the rest of the page displayed correctly in the user's selected language. This has been fixed; the Indicate Interest screen now correctly displays the course title and description from the appropriate language bundle.
367653 NSD-9715 HTML Code No Longer Displayed in Learning Modules Manager for Free Text and Textarea Module Attributes Previously, when a Module Attribute Category of type Free Text or Textarea contained HTML or CSS formatting, the Learning Modules Manager displayed the raw HTML/CSS code instead of rendering it as formatted text in the attribute column. This has been fixed so that HTML tags are stripped from these attribute values when displayed in the Learning Modules Manager, while the underlying stored content and its display in other areas of the application remain unchanged.
370944 NSD-9810 Fixed an error running the R246 and R247 reports with a large number of selected catalogs or courses Previously, running the R246 (Catalogs) or R247 (Courses) report with a large number of catalogs or courses selected could fail with a system error, preventing the report from completing. This has been resolved so the reports can now process these selections successfully.
373303 NSD-9888 Course CSV Loader No Longer Sends Unwanted Session-Change Emails to Instructors Previously, importing sessions through the Course CSV Loader could send "Session Changed" notification emails to instructors even when notifications were not intended, and in some cases instructors received multiple duplicate emails for a single session with multiple class schedules. A new "Suppress Session Changed emails to instructors" option has been added to the Course CSV Loader, allowing these notifications to be suppressed during import while still correctly sending standard "Instructor Assigned to Class" notifications when enabled.
375008 NSD-9962 Fix for Site Slowdowns Caused by Failed Scheduled Reports Retrying Repeatedly Previously, if a scheduled report failed due to an error (such as an invalid query), the system would keep the report's status as "Active" and continue attempting to run it on its original schedule, failing each time. Repeated failed attempts could consume excessive server memory and, in some cases, cause site slowdowns or downtime. A new System Configuration setting, "Disable Scheduled Report on Failure," has been added. When enabled, a scheduled report that fails due to an error is automatically changed to a "Failed" status and will not run again until it is corrected and rescheduled. A new "Failed" filter has also been added to the Scheduled Reports page so administrators can easily find and review failed schedules.
373739 NSD-10181 R139 Issue with Administrative Entry transcript records The R139 - Job Profile Compliance Report had a minor issue introduced in 26.02 where Administrative Entry transcript records were showing in the report. This has been corrected.
NSD-10222 When awarding a competency based on a classroom session, there is an issue with the time displayed. Competencies can be configured to use the completion date of a module instead of the current date of the system. However, there was an issue with the display of the date in the UI, which was converting the time zone. This has been corrected so the date and time will appear correctly.
364863 NSD-10320 Course title now displays in the correct language when approving enrollment requests via e-mail link When a manager approved a learner's enrollment request using the direct link in the approval notification e-mail, the course title shown on the approval screen could appear in the wrong language if the course used a multi-language bundle. For example, a course with both French and Dutch language versions might show the Dutch title on the approval link screen even though the approver's locale was French, and even though the e-mail itself and the in-system approval list correctly showed the French title. This has been fixed — the approval link screen now displays the course title in the approver's selected language, consistent with the enrollment approval e-mail and approval list.
379919 NSD-10324 New option to treat a Failed course as Completed in Learning Path progress A new system configuration setting, "Treat Failed as a Completed-related status," is now available for Learning Path. When enabled, a course marked Failed is treated as satisfying its related Learning Path requirement, so the Job Profile and associated Competency can reach a Completed status rather than showing "Not Enrolled." This setting is off by default, preserving existing behavior unless enabled.
380905 NSD-10328 Exam Presentation Properties Could Not Be Saved Due to a Date Format Validation Error On systems using an Exam License, saving the Availability Properties on an exam's Presentation Properties could fail with the error "Disallow answer sheet printing before: This field has an invalid date format," even when a valid date was entered. This occurred because the date value displayed in the field used a different format than what the save validation expected. This issue has been resolved; date values are now validated using the correct format, allowing Availability Properties to be saved successfully.
380184 NSD-10338 Sessions with a backslash in the Session ID could not be opened, saved, or deleted In a Program, creating or duplicating a session with a Session ID containing a backslash (\) character allowed the session to be added to the session list, but prevented it from being opened, saved, or deleted — and blocked navigation to other sessions until the change was discarded. This has been resolved; a warning message is now shown if a backslash is entered in a Session ID.
379518 NSD-10348 Enrollment confirmation email sent twice for Programs with a prompt-to-select-session module When a learner was group-enrolled into a Program module configured to prompt the user to select a session, and then selected a session from their active courses, the learner could receive two copies of the Program's enrollment confirmation email instead of one. This has been resolved; learners now receive a single confirmation email in this scenario.
382834 NSD-10447 Fix for "ERROR" Values Displayed in R109 Organization Report User Attribute Extension Columns Previously, the R109 Organization report could display the word "ERROR" instead of the correct value in User Attribute Extension columns (such as Department Name, Position ID, Job Level, and others) for employees whose attribute data had been loaded with inconsistent capitalization (for example, "Store & Transportation" vs. "STORE & TRANSPORTATION"). This occurred because the User Data CSV Loader treated differently-cased values as distinct, resulting in stored data that did not match the defined attribute choice list and caused the report to fail to render the value. The User Data CSV Loader's attribute value matching logic has been updated to compare values without regard to case, so correctly-cased data now matches the defined choice list and displays properly in the R109 report.
379614 NSD-10449 Approved prog enrolments are being updated to denied after the approval expiration period is exceeded Due to some status change action to bypass the enrollment approval process, the existing step would still run its expiration course, this has been prevented.
383214 NSD-10474 Error Selecting or Running an Exam Pool on Reports R320, R321, and R322 Previously, selecting an Exam Pool on the R320, R321, or R322 reports could display an error instead of the pool selection screen, and in some cases the same error could occur when the report was run after a pool was selected. This occurred when a large number of exam pools exceeded a database parameter limit. This issue has been resolved; Exam Pool selection and report execution now complete successfully regardless of the number of available pools.
383186,412954 NSD-10494 Fix for recurring "Learning object(s) has/have not been saved" message on Task-type modules In certain configurations, opening a Task-type learning module and navigating between tabs (such as Session or Objectives) repeatedly displayed the message "Learning object(s) has/have not been saved," even immediately after saving and with no changes made. This issue occurred most often on tasks configured with a sign-off option restricted to specific users, user groups, or organizational criteria, and could affect other modules opened afterward in the same session. This has been resolved; the message now appears only when there are genuinely unsaved changes.
382260 NSD-10495 Classroom Session Titles Now Display Correctly in Non-Primary Languages in Catalog Browser Previously, when viewing a classroom course in Catalog Browser using a "show in" language other than the course's primary language, a session's title would sometimes fail to display — showing the module title instead, or no title at all. This occurred specifically for sessions whose delivery language differed from the course's primary language. This issue has been resolved; session titles now display correctly regardless of the selected display language.
382248 NSD-10514 Duplicate objectives could appear on printed certificates (CFR licenses) For organizations using a CFR license, certificates with an Objectives field could sometimes print the same objective more than once, typically after a course's objectives had been edited and historical audit data was used to generate the certificate. This has been resolved — objective entries are now deduplicated so each objective appears only once on printed certificates and transcripts.
382269,383881 NSD-10538 Session titles not appearing on the Session Administration screen. There were intermittent issues for users viewing session titles on the Teach > Session Administration screen. A fix has been added to retrieve the session title if the one in the index can't be retrieved or is blank.
384298 NSD-10561 R265 Program Report Now Correctly Indicates Withdrawal Reason Prompt Setting Previously, when a program's enrollment policy had "Prompt user for reason for the withdrawal" enabled, the R265 report always displayed "N" in the ProgramUserWithdrawReason column, regardless of the actual setting. This has been corrected so that the report accurately reflects "Y" when this option is enabled for the program.
384418 NSD-10580 Fix for Duplicate Questions Allowed in a Single Exam Previously, the same question could be added more than once to the same exam — whether through RESIT generation, manual question selection in the exam builder, or the Exam Section Question Data Loader — resulting in exams containing duplicate questions. This has been resolved. A question that has already been added to an exam is no longer shown as available for selection in any of its sections, and the Data Loader now rejects attempts to add a question that already exists in the exam. Each question can now only be added once per exam, regardless of section.
385131,415348 NSD-10631 Report Wizard – Award Date and Expiration Date Now Display Correctly for Awarded Certificates Previously, when running a Certification History report in Report Wizard, the **Award Date** and **Expiration Date** columns in the Awarded Certificate section could appear blank even though the certificate data existed on the user's transcript. This occurred because certain Certification History–specific fields (such as Comments, Event, Supporting File URL, and Action Date) were incorrectly being associated with the Awarded Certificate section, which interfered with the proper display of the Award and Expiration dates. This issue has been resolved — the Awarded Certificate section now correctly pulls and displays Award Date and Expiration Date regardless of the Enable Certification History setting, while unrelated history-specific columns are no longer shown in that section.
385231 NSD-10647 Issue opening Questions with a period in the ID from the Exam Review page. In 25.10, there was security update related to the Content Security Policy header. That change caused a downstream issue in the Exam Review page where Questions with periods in the IDs were mistakenly treated as CSS selectors, and not opening when clicked. This has been corrected.
385402 NSD-10659 Page scrolling up and down when opening a learning module with Text Area attributes Previously, when the WYSIWYG Editor setting was enabled, opening a learning module or session with "Text Area" type attributes could cause the page to visibly scroll down and then back up as the rich-text editors initialized, rather than remaining static at the top of the page. This has been fixed so the page now stays in place while the editors load.
385424 NSD-10661 Issue with Programs that have more than 50 submodules. Some customers were reporting an issue for Programs with more than 50 submodules, where some submodules were not being saved correctly when changes or additions to the submodule list were made. This has been corrected.
384893 NSD-10662 iCalendar attachments no longer request RSVP responses when the setting is disabled Previously, enrollment confirmation, session change, and cancellation emails could include an RSVP request (`RSVP=TRUE`) in the iCalendar attachment even when the System Configuration setting **Request Responses in iCalendar** was disabled. This happened because the application omitted the RSVP parameter entirely in that case, allowing the underlying calendar library to apply its own default value rather than reflecting the configured setting.
384633 NSD-10667 R131 Report Could Omit Competencies When Competency History Was Enabled When the "Enable Competency History" system configuration setting was turned on, the R131 report could incorrectly omit competencies assigned through a job profile — including competencies a user had not yet started, had not yet completed, or had genuinely completed but which lacked a matching history record. This has been resolved. R131 now returns consistent, complete results regardless of whether Competency History is enabled or disabled. Note: the "Enable Certification History" setting does not affect R131, as this report does not reference certification data.
413027 NSD-10673 Issue with SCORM Course interaction fields. Rustici Engine supports limits of SCORM 2004 cmi.interactions.n.correct_responses.n.pattern & cmi.interactions.n.learner_response data model elements that are beyond our current schema support. The interim fix is to truncate them to 1000 characters, if the response is larger, to prevent the update encountering exception an failing to record the update. This limit will remain until the schema is officially expanded to support them in 26.10.
385398 NSD-10685 Session Selection Prompt Now Displays Correctly for Classroom Programmes When a program enrolled a learner in a classroom session configured for "Prompt User to Select Session," the session dropdown no longer displayed a placeholder option (e.g., "--Please select session--") instructing the learner to make a selection. This could cause learners to inadvertently leave the default session selected without realizing a choice was expected. This has been corrected so that the session selection dropdown now displays the "please select a session" placeholder as the default option, helping ensure learners actively choose their intended session.
385655 NSD-10686 Minor issue with question attachments. The question attachment functionality could encounter an error when the exam is configured to allow section/question navigation and the section is configured for single question per page. This has been fixed.
385335,413997 NSD-10688 Tomcat issue caused a minor issue with the courses API. The Courses API used by the New UI pages had a minor issue that was caused by a bug fix in Tomcat, resulting in a "No converter" error. This has been corrected.
385583 NSD-10689 Withdrawal Approval Failing When "Retain Transcript Records for Withdrawals" Setting Is Disabled Administrators and designated approvers could not approve learner withdrawal requests when the system configuration setting "Retain transcript records for user withdrawals or withdrawal equivalents" was unchecked. Attempting to approve a withdrawal request displayed an error and the request remained unprocessed. This issue has been resolved; withdrawal requests can now be approved successfully regardless of this setting's configuration.
385195 NSD-10694 Error When Switching Users or Logging In With Login Notifications Enabled Resolved an issue where switching to a user, or that user logging in, could trigger a system error instead of loading the page. This occurred when the "Enable Login Notifications" setting was active and the user had an active enrollment in a multi-language course whose title information was missing or incomplete for one of its language variants. Switching users and logging in now complete successfully in this scenario.
385635,385749,413997 NSD-10695 "Session Expired" Message When Logging In on Recent Tomcat Versions Some customers running the application on newer versions of Apache Tomcat could receive a "Session Expired" error after a successful login, even though their credentials were correct. This occurred because certain internal API responses were not being returned in the expected format on newer Tomcat releases, which prevented the home page from loading after sign-in. This issue has been resolved.
412799 NSD-10701 Report R420 – Competency Selector No Longer Stuck on "All" After Switching Alignment In the R420 report, opening the Competency selector and switching the Alignment option between Horizontal and Vertical could cause the selector to incorrectly display the full list of competencies (up to the configured row limit) instead of the expected filtered results. This occurred because the selector's default search value was being treated as a literal "ALL" rather than an empty search when the window first opened. This has been corrected so the selector now loads and filters competencies correctly when switching between Horizontal and Vertical alignment.
412788 NSD-10703 Issue Adding Multiple Course-Specific Approvers to a Program Session Previously, when defining session approvers for a new Program-type learning object, selecting a user in the first Course-Specific Approver field would cause the selection to shift down to the second field, making it impossible to assign two distinct approvers. This issue has been resolved; users can now successfully add separate approvers to each Course-Specific Approver field when creating a new Program session.
412869 NSD-10704 Issues with Enrollment Approval Some status change action could potentially bypass the enrollment approval process, and if the approver backdates the approval, an exception could occur, this has been fixed.
413146,413403 NSD-10712 Issue with R139 Report When users were re-enrolled in previously completed modules, and those previous completions were still within their validity period, the R139 report was showing the status for the new enrollment. The report has been fixed to show the completed and valid enrollment.
413036 NSD-10723 Imported SCORM Packages Failing to Launch with "Not Found" Error A defect was identified in the course package import utility where files located at the root level of a SCORM zip archive (such as the course launch file) were not being extracted, while files within subfolders were extracted correctly. This caused affected courses to return a "Not Found" error when learners attempted to launch them. The package import process has been corrected to properly extract all files from the archive, including those at the root level, allowing imported SCORM courses to launch successfully.
413410 NSD-10773 Certificates Without an Award Message No Longer Logged as Errors Previously, when a certificate was awarded but did not have an Award Message configured, the system logged this as an error, which could generate a high volume of log entries. This has been resolved so that certificates without an award message are awarded normally without being recorded as an error.
413506 NSD-10779 External Training Record attachments fail to open from the Learning preview link On the Records/Transcript page, clicking an External Training Record's attachment from the Learning preview link did nothing, even though the same file could still be opened from the manager edit view. This was caused by a rendering defect introduced in a prior release's security hardening of inline JavaScript. The link has been corrected so attachments now open as expected.
414063 NSD-10817 Transcript attributes entered by instructors on the Teach screen could unexpectedly disappear When an instructor added or updated a transcript attribute for a learner from the Teach > Active Courses review screen, the saved value could be wiped out the next time the learner's record was opened. This occurred for organizations with the "Show additional enrollment information in records/transcript" system configuration setting enabled, and could clear transcript attribute values entirely rather than preserving them. This issue has been resolved; transcript attributes saved via the Teach menu are now correctly retained.
413541 NSD-10836 R139 performance issue due to stale database statistics. The R139 Job Profile Compliance Report would have some performance issues for large data sets resulting in sites experiencing timeouts and data inconsistencies. The report was refactored to eliminate dependence on statistics, resulting in a reduction of report execution time while showing consistent results.
414808 NSD-10838 R139 Report showed the wrong status for modules that shared credit for a program. The R139 Job Profile Compliance Report showed completed instead of expired when a module was re-enrolled via a program set to share credit.
415176 NSD-10889 A bug in the New UI Course Calendar caused it to jump forward from the current date. The API was returning the correct data for the current date, but the UI appeared to discard or override this response, leading to the date jump. Additional issues were identified, including the calendar's inability to search for specific courses correctly and inconsistent behavior when filtering by date, which made the calendar unusable.
PL-7530 Error Message Bar No Longer Persists After Issue Is Resolved Previously, when a validation error occurred, the red warning message bar remained visible even after the user corrected the issue. This has been fixed so that the warning message bar now automatically disappears once the underlying error is resolved. This fix applies to both the existing UI and the New UI.
PL-10106 Top-right menu did not respond correctly to clicks when New UI was disabled For users with "Enable New UI" set to No, the top-right menu did not close when clicking its title while open (clicking outside the menu was required instead), and the arrow icon did not return to its downward-pointing position after the menu closed. This issue has been resolved.
