Problem:

How do I add someone to the chart?

Solution:

While it is possible to manually add to the chart from the OrgPublisher application, it is not recommended that you do so as the resulting structure will likely not match what you have in your HRIS. Additionally, the next time you get a new extract, it will overwrite this change.

The recommended way is to have the person added in the HRIS system. That way, when you extract the data out of it and OrgPublisher reads it, the person will show up correctly.

If you must add someone to the chart to create an ad-hoc or temporary copy of the chart, you can do so by opening the chart in the OrgPublisher application and then clicking on the “Build Mode” button on the toolbar. You can then click on one of the icons to add a person, a box, an open position, etc.:

You can then publish the chart to reflect the changes.
