How to hide a group of people

Applicable Product: OrgPublisher

Applicable Release: 11.15.x and earlier

Summary:
I would like to hide a group of people – I’ve created a group and clicked on the The “Hide this group in published chart” option in the “Group Editor” but the people are still showing up in the published chart.

Solution:
The “Hide this group in published chart” option in the “Group Editor” simply hides the group, not the people in the group:

That is, the hidden group will not show up when you bring up the Search in a published chart:

To hide the people in a group, you will have to first create a custom position type based on that group and then hide that type.  Here’s how:

  1. Create a custom position type by clicking on EditàDefine, and then click on the “New” button.
  2. Give the new type a name such as EmpType and in the “Group”column, click on the drop list and select the group:S00000488-04.jpg
  3. Then click OK.
  4. Next, click on Viewà’Show/Hide chart components’.
  5. Locate the new position type and click on the green arrow next to it so that it becomes a red XS00000488-05.jpg

One thing to keep in mind:  if someone searches for a particular person or persons using a condition such as name or some other searchable field, OrgPublisher will pop up a notice when you click on the result to get to the hidden person:
